I think most of those "classic games" came out years after I had stopped being a computer gamer. I think the newest computer game I had was Strife: Quest for the Sigil from '96; the others I played predominately were Chestmaster: 3000, Loom, The Secret of Monkey Island, and Sim City 2000: The Ultimate City Simulator.

Still, a most interesting find.

I still like to play The Secret of Monkey Island and Loom from time to time.

You got those to work? I don't think I was ever able to on either this or my previous laptop, but that might have been because I couldn't find the CD and tried to run the game off of floppy.

Fortunately I've got both of the remastered/hi-def versions of "The Secret of Monkey Island" and "The Secret of Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge" for the Xbox 360.

I haven't played either in awhile but I think they work alright on my computer. I can't remember if they showed up a bit odd or anything (nothing like the double screen on Ultima IV: Quest of the Avatar).

Yeah, if you want to play the old Ultimas you're best off downloading a DOS emulator like DOSBox since, after all, they were made for DOS-based systems, not the super-fast ones of today.

Also, you can use this website to download a patch that improves Ultima IV's graphics, as well as adds music and hot keys (making it easier to exit out).
